Sterling Silver Trinity Knot Necklace

Sterling Silver Trinity Knot Necklace

Much of the fun of Celtic jewelry is the immense symbolism and trying to understand it all. Another great point about Celtic jewelry is that it just looks good! No matter the symbolism or actual meaning of a Celtic symbol or Celtic knot, Celtic jewelry is awesome and looks terrific.  No wonder Celtic jewelry is the single biggest theme based jewelry.

As a genre, Celtic jewelry is more popular than religious jewelry and Christian jewelry, two of the most popular theme based jewelry genres world wide.  Not to mention, there is some overlap between Celtic jewelry and religious and Christian jewelry.

The sterling silver trinity knot necklace is one such lap over. The Celtic version of the trinity necklace is called a triquetra necklace. We will focus on the trinity necklace and the Christian version of the Trinity knot.

The trinity knot represents the Christian Holy Trinity. As you can see by some of these sample photographs of the Trinity necklace, each trinity pendant has three corners and/or three sides. Each of those corners or sides represent a member of the Trinity.

Looking at all these sterling silver trinity necklaces you can see there are some big differences in design  of the trinity knot but they all have the three corners and three sides.

Theses trinity necklaces all look great and demonstrate a great example of cross over jewelry between Celtic jewelry and religious jewelry or Christian jewelry.  I love all these great examples of the trinity knot necklace but the one I wear currently is the trinity necklace below.
