Wearing The Whole Armour Of God

Wearing the whole armour of God is talked about in the Book of Ephesians in the Holy Bible.  Let's start out with understanding the whole armor of God by reading the passage found in Ephesians:

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.  (Eph. 6:11-18)

 

 

 

We are currently wrestling with "darkness of this world" and with "spiritual wickedness". This is no small fight. It requires constant vigilance and it requites the whole armour of God, if we want success against the darkness of this world and if we want personal salvation.

 

If we spiritually wear the whole armour of God we can withstand the evil day. Now days, it seems that almost every day is an evil day.  The whole armour of Gods consists of several specific elements of which we will discuss.

 

 

 

Lions Girt About With Truth

The word "girt" according to the BibleStudyTools.com means "belted or wrapped" so we should surround or wrap our loins with truth. This is not as easy as it sounds when faced with modern-day teachings such and the big bang creation theory taught as truth or evolution taught  as absolute truth our kids are being taught and reinforced with untruth.

 

 

 

We girt ourselves with truth as taught by the Savior in the Bible. This is a part of our protect against the "evil day".

 

Breastplate Of Righteousness

The breastplate that protects our upper-body is a breastplate made of righteousness. We must protect ourselves with righteousness. We must live it, strive for it and achieve it.

 

 

Feet Shod With The Gospel Of Peace

Shod means "shooed" so our feet must have shoes made from the gospel of peace. Interesting use of the word "peace" when talking about covering our body to be ready for battle.  Peace and battle are opposing terms. Keep in mind that we are talking about spiritual battle but peace is an important aspect in our battle against evil. Evil wants war and conflict but The Lord wants peace.

 

 

 

Shield Of Faith

The shield made of faith is much more clear to understand. We must have faith in the Gospel even when it makes us unpopular in the eyes of the world. If we have faith in the teachings of the Bible we understand the truth of the creation of the world and the truth of evolution and all truth as it relates to our salvation.  The shield of faith withstands the darts of wickedness.

 

 

 

Helmet Of Salvation

The helmet of salvation means that our purpose in life is to achieve our salvation over any worldly aspirations.

 

 

 

Sword Of The Spirit

The weapon of choice for the Christian solder wearing the whole armor of God is the sword of the spirit or word of God.

Now that we're dressed to do spiritual battle, we as Christian warriors need to pray as we watch with perseverance and supplication for all saints.
