Celtic Jewelry The Other Christian Jewelry

Celtic Jewelry The Other Christian Jewelry

I am making an interesting assertion in the statement the Celtic jewelry is the other Christian jewelry. Some look at Celtic jewelry as a pagan style of jewelry while I assert that Celtic jewelry in many of its styles is another form of Christian jewelry. I will show you why in this blog post.

First of all Celtic jewelry was Celtic jewelry and symbols long before Christianity came to Ireland and western Europe. But as you will see, many of the Celtic jewelry work well in representing Christian themes. Early Christian missionaries saw the same thing in these Celtic icons. It is from those early Christian missionaries bringing these symbols in the Christian mainstream that these ideas of Celtic jewelry and Christian jewelry being the same in many icons.

The four main Celtic icons that fit into the Christian jewelry genre are Celtic crosses, Trinity knot jewelry, Claddagh jewelry and Eternity cross icons. Of these three Celtic icons the Celtic crosses is by far the most popular. In fact the Celtic crosses are so popular that there is a genre on its own called Celtic cross jewelry.

Celtic Cross Jewelry
The Celtic cross jewelry has more than just Celtic cross pendants and Celtic cross necklaces. There are Celtic cross earrings, Claddagh Earring, Claddagh rings and more that fit under the Celtic cross jewelry.

Now lets take a look at the other Celtic Christian jewelry.

Trinity knot jewelry includes Trinity earrings, pendants, rings and necklaces. The same holds for Eternity knots and Claddagh jewelry.

The trinity knot for Christians represents the Holy Trinity. The trinity knot has three corners, It is always in some form of triangle. Each corner represents a member of the holy trinity.

The eternity knots are Celtic knots where there is no beginning or end to the lines which is like a eternity circle, no beginning or end.

The Claddagh symbol is made up of a pair of hands holding a heart with a crown on the heart. The hands represents friendship, the heart means love and the crown means loyalty and fidelity.
