Celtic Jewelry
Celtic knot jewelry is very similar to Celtic jewelry however Celtic jewelry is the main genre which includes all things Celtic and Irish, with or without a knot.
This blog is highlighting the Celtic knot jewelry side of things specializing on the Celtic trinity knot pendant. What is the different between a Celtic knot and a Celtic trinity knot pendant? This is one of the easier questions to answer.
Many types of Celtic knot jewelry pendants have different names and some times one single Celtic knot with have it's own meaning. Other times a Celtic knot will mean one thing and when the Celts used it 200 years later it meant something else.
Ironically the Celtic trinity knot pendant is a fair (not perfect) example of a known knot with two meanings. Originally Celtic trinity knot pendants were referred to as triquettra or triskelle pendants. When the Christian became friendly with the Celts and many Celts became Christian, the Celtic rich culture was exposed.
The Christians took a liking to a style of knot with three corners and called this group of triquetra pendants Celtic trinity knot pendants.
Over the years (more than two hundred years) the trinity knot pendants have been growing in popularity with the Celtic jewelry crowd and the Christian crown and those who like both.
Like the triquettra pendant, the trinity knot pendants must have three corners to represent the Holy Trinity. One corner for each member.
