The Difference Between Cross Charms and Cross Pendants?

The different between Cross Pendants and Cross Charms is the same as the difference between a jewelry charm or pendants, which is: A charm has either a jump ring or split ring which allows it to go on a sterling silver charm bracelet. But it can also be attached to a sterling silver necklace chain.
A pendant has a bail which is designed to go on a sterling silver necklace chain or a black leather necklace or any other type of necklace that will fit in the bail. Most bails on pendants one work with a charm bracelet.
This sterling silver cross charm shown above has a split ring which allows it to be used with both a charm bracelet or necklace chain. This particular cross charm has a welded split ring so a new split ring or jump ring would have to be used for a charm bracelet. Most Charm's don't come with a welded jump ring.

This Dog Tag style Cross Pendant has a bail which as you can see is solid and would look funny if you tried to attach a jump ring to it to add it to a bracelet. it is design for a sterling silver necklace.

This is another great example of a sterling silver cross charm so it could go on a charm bracelt or a necklace. There is one other aspect to charms to consider. That is the size of the charm. Even though this is a charm it is best suited for a necklace due to its size. Most who wear charm bracelets like their charms smaller. But that is a personal matter of taste.

This is a high shine sterling silver cross pendant to give you an idea how diverse cross pendants can be. it also has a bail not a jump ring or split ring. Cross pendants are design with certain types of sterling silver chains in mind but that is, again, a matter of personal taste. This cross pendant could be considered more high fashion by it's high shine smooth finish.

hi there, im new in this jewelry world. I just got a job in a jewelry manufacturer in Indonesia. My 1st task is to sort out all the jewelry that had been made. Since this manufacturer was already running in 4 years without someone who got a real education and theory in jewelry, i got no one to ask around. Googling around, and i found your blog. It's been really helpful. I just want to say that. Thanks a lot.
